Hola!

Hey there guys its Kimbo here.

Just thought I would write a quick blog coz we havent written one in ages! We tried in France but the keyboard big time SUCKED and the internet was slow. We are in Barcelona now for 4 nights and have free internet! I think our blogs are gonna be far less fancy now, coz its too hard downloading pics on the computer etc so its just gonna be me talking (or Broms!). This spanish keyboard is a tad tricky so excuse my bad punctuation.

Well, after the West coast of the US we headed to Victoria in Canada to stay with Liza (my oldest sis). We had lots of fun there, but spent the majority of our time either resting from our first bit of the trip or planning for our next bit! We did manage to see a bit of Victoria and cant wait to get back in the summer, it is beautiful, everywhere you look there is either ocean or bay! Oh, and, Pamela Anderson is from there! And we had dinner in a restaurant where Kirstie Alley ate only days before us! Apparently she didnt order any DIET menu items! Oh, and on the ferry ride back to the mainland from Victoria (its on Vancouver Island) we saw wild Orcas frolicking in the harbour! So cool!

London was a really cool place. But it was sooo expensive once you converted things. We were drinking $5 diet cokes and $8 egg sandwiches! Brommles also managed to get a nice bout of food poisoning from a dodgy $12 hamburger as well, that lasted a good 3 days. Alas, it is an amazing city with so many cool old buildings and little suburbs like Notting Hill.

The first two nights we actually stayed in Notting Hill, in a dorm (we no longer stay in dorms, tried it, didnt like it!). However, a funny thing happened on our second night there, there was a drunk guy that fell out of his top bunk onto the floor in the middle of the night! haha he hardly noticed just went back to sleep, the guy on the bottom bunk had to carry him back up!). We spent the first two days just walking around taking in all the sights like the big ben and westminster abbey etc.

The third day we met up with Jo and went to her cousins fancy restaurant and spoiled ourselves with a fancy lunch. Like, so fancy that posh spice has been there! It has a Michelin star which is pretty quality I hear. It was awesome and lasted 4 hours! We then went to a few old London pubs with Jo and her cousin AJ, who is a chef at the restaurant. AJ was nice enough to let us stay at his place that night too, what a legend! The next two nights we stayed at an awesome hostel in West Kensington and took it pretty easy. The 4th day we explored museums and shopping with Jo, the 5th and 6th days we spent doing bus tours (which I have a habit of falling asleep on now! - no joke!).

Next up was Paris. Bad start unfortunately, we managed to get conned at the airport. We thought a guy was trying to help us out with train tickets but he was really selling us fake ones. What a loser capital L! Anyways, we stayed in montmarte which is what the Parisians call village Paris. Its full of cobblestone streets lined with restaurants, and our hotel room had a view of the sacre coeur, a beautiful church at the top of the hill of Montmarte. We were in Paris for 5 days, and saw all the sights including Eiffel Tower with its fancy light displays and Chateau Versailles. It was Broms bday on Sunday and we had a nice dinner in a french restaurant near the sacre coeur.

The best thing about Paris was the food, I reckon! Sooo many patisseries with beautiful baked sweets, and so much cheap fancy cheese and fresh bread! We just hung out at the supermarket most of the time! Unfortunately, we did have some bad experiences with the French which meets their reputation. Many people at the tourist attractions try to con you into giving them money, and the metro is full of sly people trying to pickpocket you! We did meet some lovely french people though, so they are OK!

Well, we are in Barcelona now, like I said at the beginning, and are off to a great start. All our accomodations have been great since the dorm and this one is looking good. First up we had tapa, paella and sangria for dinner then walked the les rambles strip (dunno how to spell it). People seem very nice and we have been so surprised but happy with how many people in Paris and Spain speak French! Anyways, will keep you posted people! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!
