BOSTON
Last weekend we drove 8 hours (we're crazy) to Boston, MA (I'm not going to attempt to spell that state). We had a great weekend, but the weather was a bummer. Saturday was POURING all day, Sunday was sunny but extremely windy, but that didn't stop us. We did many of the famous Boston attractions - including Harvard and MIT Universities, the historic freedom trail, Boston Common and Public Gardens and ate seafood! We found a great price on a room at the 4 star Sheraton Hotel downtown which was a great change because usually we stay in 2 star motels on the interstates nearby. Also, an added bonus was that the concierge upgraded us to a corner SUITE (yes, not a room) with city views!!
See what we mean about the weather!
Here we are hanging out with John Harvard at Hardvard University. This photo was taken by a nice man. We felt bad though, coz there was a MASSIVE puddle in front of the statue and one of his kids ran through the puddle (the water was like up to the kid's knees) and we laughed, so another of the kids thought he'd do it too! And then they both kept jumping up and down in the puddle and we couldn't stop laughing! They were as wet as us by the end of it.
This church is on the list of the top 10 masters of architecture in America (that's right isn't it Bromley?). It's pretty spectacular, we got to look inside for free coz they were getting ready for Sunday morning service!
How good is this photo! This is like some religious building (oh we are just so cultural aren't we!). That's Kimbo at the foot of the building, looking like she's walking on water. The architect designed the pond to have that effect.
This is the lounge room in our hotel suite - look, it even has a mini kitchen! Oh, the luxury.
This is Kimbo looking SO intelligent (and drenched) in the gates of Harvard University. Harvard is a very nice uni, lots of old buildings and stuff. And it's subway station was something to be proud of!!
